At first glance, this seems like a waste, but in reality it is brilliant. In that thin layer of soil, bacteria absorb the sugars and provide the plant with absorbable forms of iron, phosphorus, nitrogen and other essential minerals. The plant cannot extract these compounds from the soil itself, so it enters into a symbiotic relationship with bacteria, exchanging sugar for absorbable forms of essential nutrients.   <\/p><p>In many ways, soil bacteria act as an extension of the plant\u2019s digestive system and play a crucial role in the plant\u2019s health, just as gut flora does for our own health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1507729f e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"1507729f\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ba8c939 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"ba8c939\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2314c479 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2314c479\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Coherent water promotes bacterial diversity<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b95e7b1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b95e7b1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In 2021, we conducted a study on cherry tomato plants that were watered with either tap water or coherent water over a period of four months. We then analysed the bacterial diversity of their soil. The analysis was carried out using DNA sequencing, an advanced method for screening biological samples for the presence of specific genes, known as marker genes.  <\/p><p>First, the DNA was extracted from the soil and then screened for the presence of a gene called 16S. By counting the number of copies of the 16S gene in a soil sample, we were essentially able to determine the number of different bacterial species present \u2013 a parameter known as bacterial diversity. <\/p><p>The study found that bacterial diversity was significantly higher in the soil of plants watered with Coherent water. This result was particularly striking given that the soil used in the study had previously been extensively treated with glyphosate, a substance known to have a negative impact on soil bacteria.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-916ee6d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"916ee6d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b9b0607 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"b9b0607\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/waterandlight.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Plant_totatoes-768x426.png\" class=\"attachment-medium_large size-medium_large wp-image-2976\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/waterandlight.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Plant_totatoes-768x426.png 768w, https:\/\/waterandlight.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Plant_totatoes-300x166.png 300w, https:\/\/waterandlight.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Plant_totatoes-1024x568.png 1024w, https:\/\/waterandlight.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Plant_totatoes.png 1448w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5c31d62 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"5c31d62\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-792a9137 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"792a9137\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7679f640 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7679f640\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Positive effects on the nitrogen cycle\n<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3cb282d3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3cb282d3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In addition to the bacterial diversity, we used the same soil samples to analyze their chemical composition. This revealed another striking difference in the soil that was watered with the stable coherent water compared to plain water. Three parameters related to the nitrogen cycle were significantly changed, indicating that the total nitrogen content in the soil increased and became more available to plants.  <\/p><p>This result can be attributed to soil microorganisms. Although soil naturally contains sources of organic nitrogen, this nitrogen usually exists in inactive forms that cannot be directly utilised by plants. This is where bacteria come into play. They convert inactive nitrogen into nitrates and ammonia, which the plant can break down as food and use for the synthesis of its own proteins.   <\/p><p>Watering plants with stable coherent water led to increased bacterial diversity, and these bacterial communities appear to have produced more nitrogen.
