Water&Light Research B.V. has a vacancy for an internship
Student plant research (m/f)
We are looking for a student to assist in our research on plant development in Almere (NL). We are a research institute that works together with Efibia Development B.V. to study among others the effects of specially treated water on the growth of vegetables. Efibia is an organic vegetable growing company with 1.5 ha greenhouse and 1 ha outside. Within this company about 1000m2 is dedicated to research. The rest is used for vegetable and herb production.
The research is done using tomatoes and asian salad. Those crops will be followed during the whole growing season and observations need to be made regularly to be able to test the effects of the special water.
Tasks of the student
- Participate on a regular basis in the observations of the different crops and treatments
- Help out with the basic maintenance of the crops that are grown for the research
- Write a report using the data from the observations
Water&Light Research offers
An interesting and progressive research area in which the student will participate. Water is a hot topic in vegetable growth and we do hands on research in Almere that is supported by research in our lab. The student will be able to learn about doing research and the ins and outs of field research. There are also opportunities to learn more about vegetable production and to participate once in a while in the research that is done in the lab in Amersfoort.
The research will last for this season till the end of October, and students are welcome from end of April till the end of October either for a few weeks/months or the whole period
